Family Movie Night: Wonder

May 25, 2018

Join us at 5pm on Friday, May 25th at Red Hook Public Library for a free movie, popcorn and drinks. We’re screening the heartfelt family movie, Wonder.

Based on the book by RJ Palacio, Wonder is a warm, thoughtful, and inspiring story about the struggle of fitting in, personal resilience, our private struggles, and the importance of being kind to one another.

The film tells the story of August “Auggie” Pullman, a young boy born with facial differences. Comfortable in his accepting, homeschooled environment, his mother decides it is time for Auggie to attend school for the fifth grade and navigate a mainstream school environment for the first time.

As his differences cause him to stand-out, Auggie struggles to fit-in and make friends. Auggie’s struggle for acceptance and friendship touches the lives of those around him -- his friends, teachers, family, and even bullies -- in complex and moving ways.

Wonder is rated PG. All ages are welcome, no registration necessary.
