All Abilities Kids' Theater

August 6, 2018

Discover how much fun theater can be with the art, games, music and dance of All Abilities Kids Theater Week at 10 - 11 am from Monday, August 6th through Friday, August 10th.

As a part of RHPL’s summer partnership with Cocoon Theatre, this Theater Week is designed for the needs of children and teens with developmental, intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities. Our daily activities will vary somewhat within a highly structured format, making use of a visual schedule and, at times, individual stations for activities.

All participants in AAK Theater Week may choose to be part of the summer’s final performance on Saturday, Aug 11. There are roles in theater production for everyone; from taking tickets to performing to helping with props. Everyone who wants to be part of the show has a place; yet no one is required to participate.

As parents and caregivers are the best judges of their children’s interests and abilities, All Abilities Kids is for anyone under 18. We require that  every participant have a parent or caregiver in attendance. Registration is required as space is limited. All sessions will take place in the library’s third-floor Community Room that is accessible by elevator.

If you’ve been hesitant to try library programs with your child, give All Abilities Kids a try.  For more information or to ask questions, call the library to speak with Amy at 845-758-3241.
