All Abilities Kids Storytime

August 17, 2018

Red Hook Public Library’s All Abilities Kids Storytime continues this summer at 10:30 on Fridays, August 17 and August 31. Inspired by sensory storytimes at libraries and schools across the country, All Abilities Kids Storytime features stories told in multiple modalities with optional interactive elements. Using a visual schedule, we will have a story and craft, as well as movement and song activities.

As parents and caregivers are the best judges of their children’s interests and abilities, All Abilities Kids is for anyone under 18. All Abilities Kids Storytime is designed to make storytime accessible to children with developmental, cognitive and/or intellectual disabilities. The third-floor Community Room offers a quiet environment with reduced sensory stimuli.

This program is free and open to the public. We request that  every child have a parent or caregiver in attendance. If you’ve been hesitant to try library programs with your child, give All Abilities Kids a try.  For more information or to ask questions, call the library to speak with Amy at 845-758-3241.
