All Abilities Kids Music and Movement

January 5, 2019

Get your singing voices ready for some musical fun at All Abilities Kids Music and Movement 1-2 pm, Saturday, January 5 in the Community Room at Red Hook Public Library. Designed for children and teens with intellectual, cognitive and/or developmental disabilities, at Music & Movement, we enjoy simple exercises and stretches, rhythm-making, singing, and dancing with live music. For January, we will be exploring different types of music and songs about… music!

As parents and caregivers are the best judges of their children’s interests and abilities, All Abilities Kids programs have no age restrictions other than being under 18. Space is limited, so registration is required.  The third-floor Community Room offers a quiet environment with reduced sensory stimuli and Saturday afternoons are a quiet time in the library in general in case families would like to browse new items together and check out books or movies.

This program is free and open to the public. We request that  every child have a parent or caregiver in attendance; for older participants, having a parent or caregiver in the building is fine.  If you’ve been hesitant to try library programs with your child, give All Abilities Kids a try.

If your child or family would benefit from visiting the library and the program space at a time prior to the program, please contact Amy. She will happily arrange a time for your family to experience the space and the materials when no one else is using the space.
