Afternoon Book Group: The VixenAfternoon Book Group: The Vixen – The Tuesday Afternoon Book Group will meet to discuss: The Vixen by Francine Prose. Named one of 2021 by NPR and The Washington Post, this critically acclaimed book focuses on the 1950s New York publishing world. A young man is tasked with editing a steamy bodice-ripper based on the recent trial and execution of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg. The discussion will be held via Zoom. Red Hook Ofrenda Project Paper MacheRed Hook Ofrenda Project Paper Mache – Red Hook Ofrenda Project Paper Mache at Red Hook Community Center. The Red Hook Ofrenda Project is a collaboration of Culture Connect, Red Hook Community Center and the library working to create Day of the Dead displays for Red Hook schools, the library, the community center, Village Hall and in the greenhouse at Four Corners Community Farm. Anyone is welcome at the ongoing workshops to make papier-mache skulls, Catrinas, animals and more. |
