Pushing The Limits Presents: "The Sixth Extinction" book & “Racing Extinction” film Discussion

April 12, 2018

Red Hook Public Library invites you to join us as we explore the fascinating environmental phenomenon of species extinction in a multimedia reading, viewing, and discussion program at 5:30 pm on Thursday, April 12th.

We will be joined by Tara Miller, Outreach Consultant for Defenders of Wildlife, partners in the making of the documentary film Racing Extinction. As we view and discuss portions of the film, we will relate them to the Pulitzer Prize winning book The Sixth Extinction by Elizabeth Kolbert which examines threats to ecology on present day Earth in light of past extinction events.

Desserts and refreshments will be provided. This book discussion is made possible through the Pushing the Limits program series; a reading, viewing and discussion program for adults in communities served by rural libraries, made possible by a grant from the National Science Foundation.
