Adoptive Families Group with Guest Speaker, Catharine Raffaele

November 9, 2018

The Adoptive Families Group is excited to host  the Program Coordinator for the Abbout House HEART Permanency Resource Center, Catharine Raffaele, LMSW as guest speaker at 5:30 on Friday, November 9 at the Red Hook Public Library.  Parents and caregivers will meet with Raffaele in the Community Room while children enjoy Legos, crafts and games with library staff in the Children’s Library.

Raising adoptive or guardianship children has special challenges; Catharine Raffaele has devoted her career to working with adoptive, guardianship and foster families. The HEART (Helping Each Adoptive and Guardianship Family Remain Together) Permanency Resource Center provides free, in-home counseling, support and advocacy, as well as support groups for families who have achieved permanency through adoption and guardianship. This program serves Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, and Westchester Counties and are funded by a grant from the New York State Office of Children and Families Services.

Come learn how your family may benefit from these services and meet other adoptive families in your community.
