Creative Writing Camp Grades 3-5

August 5, 2017

With a focus mostly on prose and poetry, kids in grades 3-5 will read a variety of short stories and poems about nature and art! We will take walks, think about what we've read, do some free writing, and compose some of our own poems and short stories. We'll also share some of our writing with each other as a way to think about the relationship between writing and communicating. Kids will be encouraged to think about their own writing process--the way that writing comes naturally to them, and there will be opportunities to use watercolors, pastels, markers, and crayons in addition to the written word. Most importantly, this will be a time to relax, to reflect, and to be creative!

Please register in person at the library, over the phone at 845-758-3241, or here online. This program will be run by the Bard MAT student Anne Burnett. Program is free and open to the public.
