Death Cafe is a movement started in the UK by Jon Underwood based on the work of Bernard Crettaz and brought to the US by Lizzie Miles. It is a venue for talking openly about death, while sharing refreshments, in a casual and respectful atmosphere.

Many report leaving Death Cafes feeling energized and free having lifted the taboo against talking about death and dispelled some of their fear.

This cafe will take place at Enchanted Cafe in Red Hook Village, two blocks north of the library.
