Splashdown: Recovering the Apollo Astronauts

As part of the Red Hook Public Library’s Apollo Mission Era exhibit, Commander U.S. Navy retired Jack Young will share his personal experience recovering the Apollo 16 astronauts. The presentation will take place at 5pm, Thursday May 4th in Red Hook Public Library’s Community Room.

Apollo 16 took place from April 16th through April 27th in 1972. It was the tenth manned space mission and the fifth to land on the moon. Commander Young will have original photographs taken during the recovery process and will talk about his involvement. There will also be time for any questions attendees might have.

The event is free and open to the public. No registration necessary.
